Auburndale, FL: The #2/5 Endicott College baseball team defeated Ramapo College today at the RussMatt Invitational, 13-2. The Gulls move to 8-2 overall while the Roadrunners fall to 6-4 on the year.
Ramapo left two runners on in scoring position in each of the first and second innings before Endicott scored their first two runs of the game in the top of the third. The Gulls added three runs in the fourth, one in the fifth before the Roadrunners posted two runs of their own in the bottom of the fifth.
Matt Lalomia led off with a walk before
Weston Baronian singled. Dominic Ciani then laced a single through the left side allowing Lalomia to score. With one out Baronian and Ciani moved up on a balk before
Jack Tallent lifted a sac fly to center field to plate the second run, 2-6. Endicott broke open the game in the final two innings with four runs in the sixth and three in the seventh. They held Ramapo in the bottom of the seventh for the seven inning 10-run rule, 13-2.
John Connolly (2-0) struck out four, walked three and scattered four hits over five innings of work for Endicott. Chris Jenkins pitched the final two innings with two strikeouts, no walks while he let up just two hits.
James Pazdera (2-1) suffered the loss on the mound for Ramapo with six strikeouts and six walks over four complete innings. He surrendered two hits and five runs, two earned. Ciani finished 2-3 at the plate with one RBI.
Ramapo returns to action on Tuesday, March 18th when they take on Wooster College at 2:00pm.
