Hackettstown, NJ: The Centenary University baseball team snapped a three-game losing skid with a come-back victory over #23 Ramapo College, 9-1. The Cyclones move to 1-3 overall while the Roadrunners open the 2025 season 0-1 overall.
Neither team scored until Ramapo got on the board in the top of the fifth.
Dominick Ciani singled with two outs before stealing second base.
Zack Bailey then laced a double to center field plating Ciani with the team's lone run. Centenary would tie the game in the bottom of the sixth before they plated eight runs in the bottom of the eighth. Ramapo could not put a runner on base to extend the game in the ninth as Centenary came away with the 9-1 victory.
Ramapo collected seven hits in the game as
Robert Klawans finished 2-4 while Bailey and
Jesse Swartout each recorded a double. Centenary posted nine hits as Dominick Chiego led the way finishing 2-5 with four RBI.
Jack Martin (no-decision) started on the mound for the Roadrunners as he worked seven complete with eight strikeouts, one walk. Martin surrendered five hits and one earned run.
Jake Depetris (0-1) took the loss in relief surrendering four earned runs on one hit.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday afternoon on the road at Farmingdale State College for a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch of game one is set for 12:00 PM.
