DWAH, LEONARD CROWNED NJAC CHAMPIONS

ROADRUNNERS PLACE 5TH OVERALL

Philadelphia, PA:  The Ramapo College women's indoor track & field team placed fifth overall at the 2025 Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Ott Center. The Roadrunners earned a total of 69.5 points in the two-day meet.

Results

Gbarper Dwah was crowned NJAC Indoor Champion for the second time in her career in the 60m dash in 7.72 seconds. Dale Leonard won both the mile and the 3k for the second straight indoor season. In the mile she posted a winning time of 5:00.31 while she crossed the 3k finish line in 10:24.12

Ashley Gordon finished seventh overall in the 60m dash in 8.02 seconds while she qualified for the finals with a personal best time of 7.92 seconds in prelims. In the 60m hurdles, Jade Smith placed sixth overall in 9.79 seconds. In the 200m, Dwah was Ramapo's highest finisher clocking in at 26.22 seconds (7th place) while Gordon posted a time of 26.55 seconds and Jianna Gorospe finished in 27.40 seconds. Cassavell recorded a 9th place finish in the 3k in 10:57.28. In the high jump, Jessica Branham and Bryanna Shepperson each cleared 1.43m to earn 4th and 6th place respectively. In the final race of the meet, the 4x400m relay team finished 6th overall with a combined time of 4:26.53. The team was made up of Barbara Exilus, Dwah, Leonard and Lynell Thomas.
 
Day One:
Gianna Penyak finished as NJAC runner-up in the 5k as she earned a spot on the podium. This was her first conference championship appearance posting a time of 18:38.01.
Dwah earned a big Q in the 60m dash prelims with a time of 7.81 seconds while Gordon also qualified for the finals with a personal best mark of 7.92 seconds. Both times qualify them for the AARTFC while Gordon's time puts her at 6th on the program's top 10. Smith qualified for the finals of the 60m hurdles with a personal best time of 9.68 seconds. In the long jump, Shepperson posted a mark of 4.99m to earn three points for Ramapo and a sixth-place overall finish. The distance medley relay joined the men's team with a podium finish as the women's team earned this place with a combined time of 12:28.00. The team was made up of Zoey Cassavell, Thomas, Rea Pagatpatan and Leonard.
Ramapo returns to action on Friday, Feb. 28th at the Fasttrack Last Chance Invitational at Ocean Breeze at 1:00 PM.
