New York, NY: The Ramapo College men's indoor track & field team opened the season at the TCNJ Indoor Open this evening. The meet was hosted by the College of New Jersey at the New York Armory.
Wander Dilone recorded a top finish for the team as he won the 60m unseeded event when he clocked in at 7.05 seconds while
Darnel Romain finished third in 7.13 seconds. Dilone's time puts him tied for 8th all-time on RCNJ's indoor top 10 list. In the 60m prelims, Samuel Thomas clocked in at 7.06 seconds while his finals time clocked in at 6.95 seconds for fifth all-time. Other notable personal bests;
JC Mendoza (7.12),
Marco Bozza-Caballero (7.20) and
Michael Okafor-Brown (7.23).
Benjamin Zelasco finished 11th in the 60m hurdle prelims with a new personal best time of 9.14 seconds. In the 300m dash,
Jordan Hart and
Logan Natale (personal best) both posted a time of 35.73 seconds which is now tied for third all-time.
Jaycen Peterson's time of 36.42 seconds is now 8th all-time at Ramapo.
Alexander Jimenez placed fourth overall in the 400m dash in 52.32 seconds while Zelasco posted a personal best time of 52.96 seconds. In the 5k,
Brandon Meneses (4th) and
Julian Mignone (5th) finished back-to-back with times of 16:37.30 and 16:42.35.
Zal Charles grabbed a fourth-place finish in the high jump when he cleared 1.88m (6' 2"), his mark is tied for 8th all-time. The meet wrapped up with the 4x400m 'A' team finishing third overall with a combined time of 3:24.93. The team was made up of
Matt Suero, Natale, Peterson and Hart.
The Roadrunners return to action December 12th when they travel to Ocean Breeze for the Seahawk Shootout.
