Staten Island, NY: The Ramapo College men's indoor track & field team competed at the Seahawk Shootout at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex today hosted by Wagner College. The Roadrunners went up against a slate of athletes from NCAA D1, D3 and unattached competitors.
Six Roadrunners earned spots on the program's indoor top 10 list, highlighted by
Jaycen Peterson who moved into the #3 spot of the 600m dash. Peterson posted a time of 1:23.14 and finished 9th overall.
Zal Charles moved to the #4 spot in the high jump when he cleared 1.95m (6'4.75"), as he finished fifth overall and qualified for the AARTFC Indoor Championships.

Jorge Gomez Garza and
John Swaney moved to the #7, #8 and #9 spots on the all-time list at Ramapo as they clocked in the 600m dash in 1:25.67, 1:26.31 and 1:26.69 respectively. Wrapping up the top individual finishes for the Roadrunners, Samuel Thomas posted an AARTFC qualifying time in the 60m dash in 6.99 seconds (14th overall) while
Marco Bozza-Caballero clocked in at 7.06 seconds which stands at 10th all-time. In the 4x200m relay, the 'B' team finished fourth overall when they clocked in at 1:29.73. The team was made up of
Jordan Hart,
Logan Natale,
Mark Shinkorenko and
Matt Suero. The 4x200 'A' team finished fifth overall with a time of 1:30.52 as they were made up of
Wander Dilone,
Ndubuisi Okeh,
Darnel Romain and Thomas. Both relay teams qualified for the AARTFC Championships later this season.
The Roadrunners return to action when they host the Ramapo Opener on Jan. 16th at the Armory at 9:30 AM.
