MEN'S BASKETBALL OUTLASTS MARITIME, 61-58

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's basketball team outlasted SUNY Maritime, 61-58, to open the 2025-2026 tonight at the Bradley Center and Chuck McBreen Court.

The Roadrunners held on down the stretch with a basket from Branden Moore (3:21) and a pair of free throws from Tyrell Murchison (1:17) and Jalen Thomas with 3.2 seconds left to hold onto a three-point lead, 61-58. Following Moore's layup late in the second half to take a 57-51 lead with 3:21 remaining, Zion Williams sank a three-pointer (2:16) to cut the lead in half.  Murchison sank a pair of free throws to bring the Roadrunner lead back to five, 59-54, before Jake Devaney scored two from the free throw line with 1:07 remaining cutting the lead back to three, 56-59. Sean Kivlan would score a long two-pointer in the corner for Maritime, cutting the lead to just one with four seconds remaining, 58-59. Following a foul from the Privateers, Thomas was sent to the line and sank his free throws to give the Roadrunners the 61-58 lead. Maritime would need to go the length of the floor following the inbound as a long pass was deflected by the Roadrunners as Tim Linton came up with the ball on the steal.

Ramapo shot 35% (22-62) from the floor, 22% (2-9) from the three-point line and 60% (15-25) from the free throw line. The Roadrunners scored 30 points in the paint and 13 off Maritime turnovers. Linton led the team with 18 points while he grabbed eight rebounds, three steals and one blocked shot. Moore came off the bench in the game and scored 12 points while recording four points and one block. Enoch Hutchinson posted 11 points, two rebounds and one assist while Elijah Barlow led the way with ten rebounds while adding seven points, two assists and one steal.

Maritime was led by Sean Kivlan who scored 13 points including three three-pointers while Tyler Anderson added 12 points. Devaney contributed with 11 points and 14 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. The team shot 31% (21-67) from the field, 25% (7-28) from the three-point line and 50% (9-18) from the free throw line.

Ramapo returns to action on Friday, Nov. 14th when they travel to McDaniel College for a non-conference game at 7:00 PM.
