Dallas, PA: The Ramapo College men's swim team competed at the Cougar Splash Invitational this evening hosted by Misericordia University. The three-day invitational began this evening with four final events. The Roadrunners currently sit in third place with 73 points out of six teams competing.
Adam Wright won the 500 freestyle in 4:45.63 while
Andrew Van Beveren finished in 5:35.54.
Joe Britto and
Jacob Peraza posted times of 5:36.90 and 5:44.85 respectively.
Anthony Chiu (7th) and
Andy Shkolnik (8th) finished back-to-back in the 200 IM with times of 2:06.04 and 2:06.07.
Matthew O'Brien clocked in at 2:10.47 and
Tomas Jimenez posted a time of 2:22.96. In the 50 free, the Roadrunners had two record top 12 times as
Joe Swede placed third overall in 21.88 seconds and
Tyler Finkle finished seventh in 22.30 seconds. The 200 medley A-relay team finished in fourth-place overall with a combined time of 1:38.29. The team was made up of Shkolnik, Swede, Guevara and
Doruk Evcimen.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday in day two of the Cougar Splash Invitational. Session one is set for 9:30am and session two is set to begin at 5:30pm.
