Mahwah, NJ: The Kean University women's soccer team defeated Ramapo College, 2-1, tonight in NJAC action at the Athletic Center Turf Field. The Cougars move to 5-4-1 overall and 1-2 in the conference while the Roadrunners now stand at 4-4-1 overall and 1-2 in the NJAC.
Amanda Barr scored for the Roadrunners to open up the scoring in the 15th minute (14:58) off an assist from
Marisa Christ. The Cougars would tie the game (21:32) with a goal from Kaydence Oakley, her third of the season. Kean would get the eventual game-winner (44:01) as Stephanie Monroe scored her first goal of the season off a pass from Carly Gleason, 2-1. The Roadrunners recorded 26 shots including ten shots on goal in the game while they held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks in the game. Kean tallied eight shots in the game with six on goal. Maidson Gesualdo collected four saves in the first half of the Cougars while Caitlin Murphy tallied three in the second half for Kean.
Gabby Matias recorded four saves for the Roadrunners.
Ramapo returns to action on Monday, October 6th when they host the City College of New York in a non-conference game at 7:00 PM.
