Glassboro, NJ: The Rowan University women's volleyball team defeated Ramapo College tonight at Esby Gym, 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-13). The Profs (11-4, 2-0 NJAC) hand the Roadrunners their first loss in conference play as they move to 10-4 overall and 2-1 in the NJAC.
Rowan recorded 44 kills in the match and hit .224 overall on 98 attempts and just 19 errors. Three Profs posted double digit kills in the match as Jena Kaul and Jessica Smart each posted 11 while Abigail Chadwick added ten. Raven Albrecht dished out a match-high 30 assists while Vanessa Hutchinson led the team on defense with nine digs. Ciara Bradley posted four aces while Hutchinson added three.
Valentina Palen led the Roadrunners in the match as she hit .421 with a team high nine kills on 19 attempts and just one error.
Asya Akar recorded five kills, five digs, two blocks and two aces while
Jasmine Rolle put down four kills along with four digs, two blocks and one ace.
Katie Bishop tallied 17 assists while adding six digs, one ace and one kill. Palen led the team with seven digs on defense. Ramapo tallied 22 team kills on 86 attempts with 17 errors.
The Roadrunners return to action on October 7th when they host Rutgers-Newark University for a NJAC match at 7:00 PM.
