Madison, NJ: The FDU-Florham University women's volleyball team earned their first win of the season in a tough 3-1 (25-17, 25-16, 24-26, 25-17) victory over visiting Ramapo College. This was the season opener for the Roadrunners while the Devils move to 1-3 overall.
For the Devils, they were led by Tayla O'Connor and Genevieve Fitch who posted 13 and 10 kills respectively. Rachel Reiter posted three aces and three blocks while Gabbie Hart added three blocks. Arianna Wood contributed with eight kills and two blocks while Amaya Ocasio and Lilli Nawrotski split the setting duties with 18 and 17 respectively. On defense, Kiara Salme posted a match-high 25 digs while O'Connor added 12 and Fitch posted 11. The team recorded 46 kills in the four-set match on 131 attempts and 24 errors.
For the Roadrunners in their first match of the 2024 season,
Riley Stewart and
Jasmine Rolle each put down seven kills while
Amanda Fatouh added six. Stewart led the team with four blocks while
Kaitlyn Van Zile and Rolle each posted two.
Katie Bishop led the team with 22 assists while adding 11 digs on the night. Fatouh collected 12 digs while
Emma Garcia also tallied 12 to help the team on defense. Ramapo posted 33 kills on 142 attempts with 32 errors.
Ramapo returns to action on Tuesday, September 10th for their first home match of the season as they host Manhattanville University at 7pm in the Bradley Center.
