Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's soccer team recorded a 9-0 non-conference win over the City College of New York tonight at the Athletic Center. The Roadrunners improve to 5-1-2 overall while the Beavers drop to 0-5-1 overall.
Dino Radoncic scored back-to-back goals for the Roadrunners in the first half to put the team up 2-0.
Gianfranco Ponce scored his 5th goal of the season (24:19) before
Jack Hosmer (25:39) posted his second of the year off a pass from
Kyle Allen to push the score, 4-0.
Alim Lita then scored back-to-back goals in the 31st and 45th minute to wrap up the first half scoring, 6-0.
In the second half,
Luca Cascio scored his first goal of the year as
Evan Arendt earned the assist in the 53rd minute.
Axel Gonzalez and
Yair Candia each put a goal into the back of the net in the 68th and 78th minute respectively as Ramapo held a 9-0 lead. Ramapo held a 14-3 advantage in shots on goal and all four corner kicks in the game.
Nikolai Matthews recorded one save in the first half for the Roadrunners while
Matthew Touchard posted two saves in the second half to preserve the shutout win.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, Sept. 28th at 1pm as they host Rutgers-Camden University in the first NJAC match-up of the season.
