Camden, NJ: The Ramapo College women's tennis team earned a key NJAC win over Rutgers-Camden University today, 7-2. The Roadrunners move to 10-4 overall and 4-1 in the NJAC while the Scarlet Raptors move to 8-8 overall and 2-3 in the league.
The Roadrunners, who finished second in the league standings, earn the #2 seed in the upcoming NJAC Women's Tennis Tournament. The complete bracket and seedings will be announced Sunday evening following the completion of all league games.
All three Ramapo duos won their doubles matches to earn three team points heading into singles play. In singles action,
Melanie Brentnall won 6-2, 6-0 at first singles while
Kassie Britt earned a 6-2, 6-1 at fourth singles.
Justine Gardella won 6-4, 6-0 at sixth singles while
Anna Bysiek earned a win by opponent retirement at fifth singles.
The NJAC Tournament begins on Wednesday, April 24th at the higher seed in one of two semifinal matches while the Championship Match is on Saturday, April 27th at the highest remaining seed.
The Roadrunners have two more regular season non-conference matches remaining, April 26th against Bard College at 5:00 PM and April 29th against FDU-Florham at 4:00 PM.
