SOFTBALL SUFFERS TWO LOSSES ON THE ROAD AT STOCKTON

Galloway, NJ:  The Stockton University softball team used two come from behind wins to defeat Ramapo College in NJAC action. The Ospreys (20-10, 11-3 NJAC) won game one, 2-0 and game two 4-2. The Roadrunners now stand at 24-6 overall and 11-3 in the conference.
 
Game 1:
With the score knotted at 0-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Nerina Tramp belted a two-run homerun to give Stockton the lead. Tramp then continued to hold the Roadrunner offense in check in the circle in the final two innings. Tramp (11-2) held Ramapo to four hits in the complete game shutout with four strikeouts and one walk.
 
Marissa DiPaolo (10-1) struck out six, walked none and surrendered seven hits in the circle for Ramapo.
 
Game 2:
Ramapo scored in the top of the first for an early lead. With two outs and the bases loaded, Ysabellah Otero laced a single up the middle allowing Mahogany Wheeler and Avery Bartolomeo to score, 2-0. Stockton would come back with four runs in the fifth to take the lead as they recorded an RBI double and RBI single before an RBI groundout pushed across the third run, 3-2. The fourth run scored on an infield error as Stockton scored an insurance run, 4-2.
 
Kassy Stefanksi (9-4) suffered the loss for Ramapo in the circle as she struck out three, walked none and let up seven hits and three runs in four complete innings of work. Brook Knight worked the final two innings as she struck out two, walked none and let up three hits and one unearned run.
 
Mia Barone (6-5) earned the win in relief for the Ospreys. She struck out three, walked one and scattered three hits in six innings of work.
 
The Roadrunners return to action in two NJAC games on Tuesday, April 23rd when they host New Jersey City University at 3:00 PM.
