Montclair, NJ: The Montclair State University women's lacrosse team defeated Ramapo College in NJAC action, 19-5. The Red Hawks move to 8-3 overall and 2-1 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners drop to 3-7 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
The Red Hawks used an early offense attack to take an 11-2 lead after one quarter of action.
Erin Smeilus and
Kelly Griffin both scored for the Roadrunners in the first. MSU added three goals in the second to take a 14-2 lead into halftime. Ramapo got onee back in the third and two in the fourth while MSU added five goals in the final 30 minutes of play. Smeilus added her second goal in the third while
Kaylie Gresek and
Bethany Glaser each hit the back of the net in the fourth.
Joey Grotkopf recorded 12 saves for the Red Hawks in goal while
Alyssa Curto recorded 13 in goal for the Roadrunners.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, April 20th when they host Rowan University in a NJAC game at 1:00 PM. The Roadrunners will honor their senior class in a pre-game ceremony.
