Purchase, NY: The Ramapo College baseball team picked up a 9-1 road win over Manhattanville College this afternoon. The Roadrunners move to 9-7 overall while the Valiants now stand at 5-7 on the year.
Ramapo scored the first run when
Matt Lalomia was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to plate
Zach Novakowski for a quick 1-0 in the first. Mville got on back in the bottom of the second before Ramapo added two runs in the third.
Zack Bailey led off with a double before moving to third on a single from
Jack Tallent. With two outs,
Will Egner came up clutch with a double to left field to plate both Bailey and Tallent for a 3-1 lead. Ramapo added three more runs in the 5th and 6th innings to extend the lead to 9-1. In the 5th, Bailey scored on an RBI double from Tallent before Egner once again drove in two runs for a 6-1 score. In the 6th,
Tyler Guadagno drew a walk and later scored on a Mville error before Egner picked up two more RBI with a two-out single to right field, 9-1.
Egner led the way with six RBI and finished 3-5 at the plate while Tallent and
John Higgins each collected two hits.
Dominick Ciani started on the mound for Ramapo as he struck out three, walked one. He surrendered four hits and one unearned run in three complete innings of work.
Will Kennedy (2-2) earned the win in relief with two strikeouts while he surrendered just one hit in two innings of work.
The Roadrunners return to action tomorrow afternoon when they host Vermont State University – Castleton in a non-conference game at 2:00 PM.
