RAMAPO ADVANCES TO ECAC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, THOMPSON COLLECTS 1,000TH CAREER POINT

Washington, DC:  Jada Thompson led the Ramapo College women's basketball team to an ECAC Tournament Semifinal victory, 69-51, over host #2 seeded Gallaudet University. With the win the Roadrunners improve to 17-11 overall while the Bison wrap up the season at 17-10 overall.
 
Ramapo's 17 total wins the season matches the best win total under head coach Mike Eineker as they will play for their second ECAC Championship in program history (92-93). The #3 seeded Roadrunners will go up against #4 seeded Baruch College tomorrow afternoon at 12:00 PM at host Gallaudet. Click here for live stats and here for live video.
 
Thompson tallied her 1,000th career point in the game this afternoon. She eclipsed the 1k mark on a jumper in the second quarter where she was also fouled for the and-one play. The bucket and free throw gave Ramapo a 29-25 lead with 4:20 left in the first half. Thompson led the Roadrunners in the game with 22 points and 14 rebounds for her 12th double double of the season while adding eight assists and five steals. Shannon Burns posted ten points, three steals, three assists and one block. Olivia Johnstone connected on one three-pointer and finished with nine points and three rebounds while Jackie Ventricelli posted eight points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks. Karly Wittenbauer and Alison Ahern contributed with eight points each while Wittenbauer added five rebounds, five assists, four blocks and three steals. Ramapo shot 40% (32-79) from the field, 12% (1-8) from the three-point line and 66% (4-6) from the free throw line in the game. The Roadrunners recorded 56 points in the paint and 21 off Bison turnovers while the non-starters contributed with 20 points off the bench.
 
The Bison were led by Cassidy Perry with 24 points while she added 16 rebounds and three blocks. Rajena Guettler and Olivia Brown each added eight points and nine rebounds. The team shot 28% (19-66) from the field and 76% (13-17) from the free throw line.
