Clermont, FL: The Ramapo College softball team earned two wins today in non-conference action as they won their third straight and improved to 6-2 overall. They defeated Worcester State University, 2-1 before downing Middlebury College 16-1 in five innings.
Game 1:
Worcester State University plated one run in the top of the first before Ramapo came back with a run to tie the game. In the bottom of the first inning,
Katie Rygiel led off with a single before the Lancers' starting pitcher Emily Bartle induced back-to-back strikeouts.
Avery Bartolomeo then drove in Rygiel with a double in the left-center field gap for the 1-1 score. In the third, Ramapo took the lead on a solo homerun from
Alexis Corra, her second of the season, to push the score, 2-1.

Marissa DiPaolo (1-0) worked out of a few jams to hold the lead. DiPaolo struck out four, walked one and scattered five hits in the complete game victory. The Roadrunners collected seven hits with Bartolomeo finishing 2-3 with an RBI.
Game 2:
Bartolomeo drove home Corra with an RBI single to right field before Wheeler scored on an RBI fielder's choice off the bat of
Avery Kontura for a 2-0 lead. In the fourth inning, Corra plated two more with a double to center field before Wheeler drove home Rygiel with an RBI single up the middle to extend the score, 6-0. The Roadrunners scored ten runs in the fifth to break open the game. Kontura drove home two with a single up the middle before
Hannah Hensler plated one with a RBI single to center field, 9-0.
Ysabellah Otero hit a pinch-hit three-run home run before Corra hit a grand slam for the 16-0 score. Middlebury added one in the fifth before Ramapo recorded the final out to secure the run-rule victory.
Kassy Stefanski (3-1) scattered five hits in five innings of work with two strikeouts and one walk to earn the win in the circle for the Roadrunners. Rygiel, Bartolomeo and Milsom each collected three hits in the game while Corra finished 2-3 with a team leading six RBI and four runs scored.
Ramapo returns to action on March 20th when they take on Millikin University (1:30 PM) and the University of Wisconsin-River Falls (4:15 PM).
