Reading, PA: The Ramapo College baseball team defeated Alvernia College, 13-4, today in non-conference action. Ramapo moves to 3-3 overall while the Wolves now stand at 7-5 overall.
The Roadrunners belted out 16 hits including four doubles, two triples and two home runs. Ramapo got on the board with four runs in the second.
Tyler Guadagno drove in three RBI with a bases clearing double before
Jack Tallent plated Guadagno with an RBI single, 4-0. Alvernia plated three in the fourth before Ramapo added five in the fifth. Zach Bailey and
John Higgins hit back-to-back RBI triples before
Will Egner drove in Higgins with an RBI double, 7-3.
Robert Klawans wrapped up the scoring in the fifth with a two-run home run for a 9-3 lead. In the sixth, Ciani laced a double down the leftfield line to plate Guadagno before Bailey belted a three-run homerun to extend the Roadrunner lead, 13-3. Alvernia added an unearned run in the eighth as Ramapo led, 13-4.
James Pazdera (1-0) earned the win on the mound with four strikeouts and two walks while he surrendered two hits and three runs (one earned). Bailey finished 2-4 with four RBI and two runs scored while Higgins finished 2-5 with one RBI and one run scored. Klawans and Tallent each posted three hits.
Ramapo returns to action on Sunday, March 17th when they travel to Auburndale, FL for the RussMattt Invitational. The Roadrunners will take on the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at Noon.
