Galloway, NJ: The Ramapo College women's cross country team placed 8th overall at the NCAA Metro Regional Championships this afternoon. The meet was hosted by Stockton University.
Dale Leonard grabbed a third place finish and earned All-Region honors when she crossed the finish line in 22:10.9, a season best, while also punching her ticket to the NCAA Championship Meet next weekend. Leonard was also the top NJAC finisher in the regional meet.
Zoey Cassavell also earned All-Region honors as she finished 2nd for the team with a time of 23:38.9.
Zoe Gregory clocked in at 24:09.4 while
Elena Guzman, who was running in her first NCAA Regional race, posted a time of 24:18.9.
Jasmin Silva-Vargas wrapped up the team's top five finishers as she crossed the finish line in 24:52.6.
The field for the 2024 NCAA Cross Country Championships, including automatic qualifiers and at-large teams & individuals will be announced tomorrow afternoon on NCAA.com. 32 teams per gender will be selected for the championships. 10 on each side will automatically qualify (one per region, from regional championships) while the remaining 22 for each of the men's and women's championships will be picked at large.
