Peter Gorman scored his 1,000th career point tonight as the Ramapo College men's basketball team earned an 85-56 NJAC road win over New Jersey City University. The Roadrunners improve to 14-7 overall and 8-6 in the NJAC while the Gothic Knights drop to 6-15 overall and 3-11 in the conference.
Gorman's three-pointer in the second half with 14:02 on the clock eclipsed the 1,000-point mark and gave Ramapo a 51-36 lead. He became the 23rd Roadrunner in program history to achieve this career milestone. Ramapo held a double digit lead throughout the second half. With 6:17 remaining
Justin Bladen started a run of four straight three-pointers from the Roadrunners. Bladen scored the first and fourth in the 12-2,
Anees Raheem and Gorman also connected on a three-pointer as Ramapo led, 79-51, with 3:25 on the clock. Ramapo added six points to their total down the stretch while NJCU added five as the Roadrunners came away with a key NJAC road victory.
Gorman finished with a game high 26 points including finishing 6-7 from the three-point line and 10-17 from the field. Bladen added 16 points and two assists while he posted a team high seven steals.
Shane Rooney contributed with a team high nine rebounds along with 13 points while
Jordan Myers added six rebounds and nine points.
Elijah Barlow contributed with eight points as he finished 2-2 from the three-point line and Raheem posted seven points. Ramapo shot 52% (30-57) from the floor, 72% (13-18) from the three-point line and 66% (12-18) from the free throw line. Ramapo scored 26 points while they tallied 35 points off NJCU turnovers.
NJCU had two players score in double figures as they were led by Bakhi Rogers-Robinson who posted 12 points and five rebounds while Will Brown, III added seven points. The Gothic Knights shot 46% (22-47) from the floor, 22% (2-9) from the three-point line and 76% (10-13) from the free throw line.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 3rd when they host Rutgers-Camden University in a key NJAC game at 5:00 PM.
