MYERS CAREER HIGH NOT ENOUGH IN TOUGH LOSS AT ROWAN

Glassboro, NJ: The Rowan University men's basketball team earned an 87-76 win over Ramapo College today in NJAC action. The Profs move to 15-5 overall and 9-4 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners move to 13-7 overall and 7-6 in the league.
 
Rowan held a 13 point lead at halftime and held off a Ramapo comeback in the second half for their 15th win of the season. Down ten with just over 13 minutes left in the game the Roadrunners went on a 6-0 run capped off with a dunk from Shane Rooney, cutting the Rowan lead to four with 12:14 on the clock, 61-57. Rowan then stretched the lead back to nine with a jumper from Noel Ja'Zere before Anthony Corbo sank a three-pointer for the Roadrunners. A pair of free throws from Ja'Zere sparked a 10-5 run as the Profs held an 11 point lead with just over seven minutes remaining. Rowan held a double digit lead down the stretch as the Profs came away with the 87-76 win.
 
Five players scored in double figures for Rowan as they were led by Ja'Zere with 26 points. Chris McCarron scored five three-pointers in the game as the Profs sank 12 as a team. Danny Fleming added 19 points while the team shot 55% (35-63) from the field, 44% (12-27) from the three-point line and 62% (5-8) from the free throw line.
 
Jordan Myers posted a career high 28 points while he added ten rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season. Shane Rooney added 16 points, eight rebounds and six assists while Justin Bladen added ten points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals. Ramapo shot 45% (31-68) from the field, 17% (3-17) from the three-point line and 68% (11-16) from the free throw line.
 
Ramapo returns to action on Wednesday, January 31st when they travel to NJAC rival New Jersey City University for a game at 7:30 PM.
