Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's basketball team won a key NJAC game over rival Stockton University today at the Bradley Center, 78-65. The Roadrunners move to 13-5 overall and 7-4 in the conference while the Ospreys drop to 12-6 overall and 8-3 in the NJAC.
The Roadrunners held the Ospreys to just 29 points in the first half. Stockton was held to 65 points for just the third time this season while they averaged 80 points per game. Ramapo shot 44% from the field 22-50 for the game, 45% (5-11) from the three-point line. The Roadrunners went to the free throw line 32 times in the game which is a season high as they host 90% (29-32). Four starters scored in double figures as they were led by
Peter Gorman who tallied 24 points. Gorman finished 7-15 from the field, 2-4 from the three-point line and 8-10 from the free throw line while he added four assists.
Jordan Myers and
Anthony Corbo were each perfect from the free throw line in the game. Myers posted 16 points as he finished 5-8 from the field and 6-6 from the line. Corbo added nine rebounds, 16 points and three assists while he finished 9-9 from the line.
Shane Rooney contributed with ten points and three rebounds. The Ramapo defense forced 16 Osprey turnovers as they scored 14 points.
Stockton also had four players scored in double figures including three starters. They were led by DJ Campbell and Martin Anguelov who posted 15 points each. Tayvon Gaither added 13 points and eight rebounds while EJ Matthews-Spratley posted 11 points. The Ospreys shot 32% (17-52) from the field, 27% (8-29) from the three-point line and 71% (23-32) from the field.
Ramapo returns to action on Wednesday, January 23rd when they host Kean University in NJAC action at 7:30 PM.
