Mahwah, NJ: The College of New Jersey men's soccer team earned a 1-0 win over Ramapo College tonight at the Athletic Center Turf Field. The Lions move to 3-5-1 overall while they open up the NJAC season at 1-0 overall. The Roadrunners now stand at 2-3-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
Colin Kenville scored the game-winner for TCNJ in the fifth minute of action (4:05) in the first half. Luke Pascarella crossed a ball off the end line in front of the goal where Sebastian Hernandez crossed the ball to Kenville who put it into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.
Despite having 10 shots in the first half and 11 in the second along with 10 total shots on goal in the game, the TCNJ defense and goalkeeper Julian Franco kept Ramapo off the board. Franco tallied ten saves in the game. For the Roadrunners,
Luigi Portillo had a good look at a shot on goal as his shot hit the post in the 27th minute while
Alex Zargo hit the crossbar on a shot in the 44th minute. For the game,
Zachary Natt collected six saves and the team held a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Ramapo returns to action on September 27th when they travel to Rutgers-Camden University in a NJAC game at 7:00 PM.
