Pittsford, NY:  Senior Cheickna Traore and sophomore Gbarper Dwah competed in day one of the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by St. John Fisher University at the Polisseni T&F Complex.
 
Both Roadrunners compete in the 200m dash prelims this evening. In the men's 200m dash, Traore won heat two with a new facility record time of 20.71 seconds. The top finisher of each heat along with the next five fastest times advanced to Saturday's final. The top four qualifiers all ran under the previous facility record.
 
Dwah, who ran in heat two of the women's 200m dash, placed 6th in the heat while she placed 17th overall in 25.03 seconds. The top finisher of each heat along with the next five fastest times advanced to Saturday's final.
 
Dwah and Traore will continue their NCAA Championships tomorrow evening in the 100m dash prelims. Traore will compete in heat one, lane four at 6:00pm and Dwah will compete in heat one, lane three at 6:15pm. The heat winner and the next five fastest times will advance to Saturday's final.
