Galloway, NJ: The Ramapo College baseball team shutout Stockton University this afternoon, 8-0 in NJAC action. The Roadrunners move to 12-7 overall and 1-1 in the NJAC while the Ospreys now stand at 12-8 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
Ramapo scored two runs in the first, one in the second, one fifth and four in the seventh.
Justin Garthaffner drove home four RBI in the game to lead the Roadrunners as he finished 2-3 in the game with one run scored. Ramapo got on the board in the first inning when
Brian Baranok reached on an error and later scored on a wild pitch. Later in the inning, Garthaffner worked a bases loaded walk as
Matt Lalomia scored on a wild pitch for a 2-0 score. In the second, Dominic Ciani drove home
Jason Cuba with an RBI groundout before Garthaffner knocked in Baranok with an RBI single in the fifth inning to push the score to 4-0. In the seventh, Ciani scored on a pass ball before Garthaffner drilled a three-run home run over the left field fence to extend the lead, 8-0.
The Roadrunners collected nine hits in the game as Garthaffner and Baranok each posted two hits while Baranok led the way with three runs scored.
Jack Martin (2-1) earned the win on the mound for the Roadrunners. Martin struck out four and surrendered just three hits in six innings of work.
Ramapo returns to action on Thursday, April 6th when they host Montclair State University at 3:30pm in NJAC action.
