Mahwah, NJ: The New Paltz baseball team scored early in the game and held off a Roadrunner comeback in the ninth inning as the Hawks defeated Ramapo College, 6-4. The Hawks move to 10-21 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 20-4 overall.
The Hawks scored four runs in the third inning to get on the board, 4-0. The inning was highlighted by a three-run home run from Nick Harvey. N. Harvey added a solo home run in the fifth to extend the lead, 5-0 before Ramapo got on the board in the seventh inning.

TJ Roman with an RBI groundout. In the eighth, the Hawks added an insurance run before Ramapo came back with three runs in the bottom of the ninth. Tyler Guadango led off with a walk, Lalomia was hit by a pitch and
Sean Donaghue walked with two outs to load the bases.

Justin Garthaffner belted a pinch-hit double to center field which cleared the bases, 4-6. New Paltz reliever Liam Ryan induced a strikeout to end the Ramapo threat and earn his first save of the season.
Billy Moeller (2-4) struck out seven, walked six and scattered four hits in 6.2 innings of work for New Paltz on the mound. Ryan worked the final 2.1 innings for the Hawks with four strikeouts while he let up just one hit.
Five Roadrunners each collected a hit in the game with Guadango and Ju. Garthaffner each recorded a double.
DJ McGuinness (1-1) took the loss in relief, he struck out three, walked two and let up six hits and five runs in three innings of work.
The Roadrunners return to action on Thursday, April 27th when they host NJAC rival William Paterson University at 3:30pm.
