Newark, NJ: The Ramapo College baseball team blanked Rutgers-Newark University this afternoon in NJAC action, 2-0. The Roadrunners move to 18-12 overall and 5-6 in the NJAC while the Scarlet Raiders now stand at 19-11-1 overall and 3-7-1 in the conference.

Dominick Ciani scattered five hits in 7.1 innings of work with three strikeouts and three walks while
Will Paoli did not let up a hit in the final 1.2 innings of the game to earn his fourth save of the season. Paoli struck out three, all in the ninth, while he walked one.
The Roadrunners plated the eventual winning run in the seventh inning while they added an insurance run in the eighth. In the seventh,
Matt Lalomia led off with a single, stole second and advanced to third on a foul out in right field. With two outs,
Matt Carovillano drove a pitch into the right-center field gap for a triple to pick up the RBI and the 1-0 lead. With one out in the eighth,
Tyler Guadagno scored from second base on a hard hit single to center field from Lalomia, 2-0.
In the first inning,
Brian Baranok took the fourth pitch he saw and hit it back up the middle for his 100th career hit. Baranok finished 2-3 on the day while Lalomia,
Will Egner and Carovillano each collected two hits.
The Roadrunners and Scarlet Raiders return to action tomorrow afternoon in Mahwah to complete the home-and-home NJAC series, first pitch is set for 3:30pm.
