RAMAPO WOMEN'S LACROSSE DEFEATS MOUNT SAINT MARY, 15-4

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team earned their third win of the season with a 15-4 non-conference victory over the College of Mount Saint Mary (NY) today at the Athletic Center.
 
Ramapo poured in six unanswered goals in the first quarter as five different Roadrunners scored. Erin Smeilus put the team on the board before Kaylie Gresek and Kelly Griffin tallied back-to-back goals, 3-0. Ella Shade scored her second of the season before Colleen Mason collected her 28th of the year. Griffin closed out the scoring in the first with her second of the game for the 6-0 lead. Gresek started the scoring rally for Ramapo in the second before Caitlyn Featherstone collected her ninth of the year and Bethany Glaser scored her fourth of the year for a 9-0 lead. Griffin would make it 10-0 in favor of the Roadrunners before MSMC got on the board with a goal from Shannon McGowan, her sixth of the season with 3:13 left to play. Mary Rakowski tallied her third goal of the year to close out the second up 11-1.
 
Griffin scored Ramapo's two goals in the third quarter for a 13-1 lead with just over 12 minutes left remaining. Erica Schmidgall put one in for the Knights in the third before both teams added two goals each in the final quarter. Smeilus and Griffin each posted a goal while Carolyn Del Debbio added two for MSMC. The Ramapo defense did not allow a goal in the final minute of action as they posted a 15-4 victory.
 
Griffin led the way for Ramapo with six goals and one assist for seven points while Gresek and Smelius each posted two. Glaser led the way with two assists for the Roadrunners. Alyssa Curto collected five saves in goal for the team.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Tuesday, April 4th when they travel to Cedar Crest College for a non-conference game at 4pm.
