GORMAN NETS A CAREER HIGH 34 POINTS IN TOUGH ROAD LOSS TO TCNJ

Ewing, NJ:  The College of New Jersey men's basketball team held on for an 82-77 NJAC victory. The Roadrunners now stand at 9-15 overall, 5-12 in the NJAC, while the Lions improve to 9-15 overall, 8-9 in the conference.  
 
The Lions jumped to an early ten point lead over the first 4:51 of play capped off by a dunk from Danny Bodine, 12-2.  The two teams traded baskets before Jordan Myers tacked on six points for the Roadrunners over one minute of play closing the gap to six.  The Lions would score 15 points in the remaining 3:56 of the first half to Ramapo's six as TCNJ took a 16 point lead into the locker room, 46-30.
 
The Lions started the second half with a 9-3 run capped off by a jumper from Trevor Covey, 55-33.  Peter Gorman netted seven points for the Roadrunners in 1:14 of play to close the gap. The Lions and Roadrunners played evenly for the remainder of the second half until a shot from Justin Bladen would spark a mini 7-0 run for Ramapo, 70-77.  Jason Larranaga tacked on two for the Lions with under one minute left in the game before the Roadrunners would add four more, 74-79.  Gorman would hit a key three pointer with eight seconds remaining bringing the Roadrunners within three, 77-80.  Anthony DiCaro would draw a foul to get to the free throw line as he scored the final two points of the game giving the Lions the 82-77 win.  
 
Gorman led the Ramapo with a career high of 34 points while dishing out seven assists. Myers posted 15 points and collected five rebounds while Shane Rooney pulled down nine rebounds. The Roadrunners shot 26-62 (41.9%) from the field, 8-17 (47.1%) from beyond the three point line, and 17-22 (77.3%) from the free throw line.  
 
The Lions were led by Bodine with 17 points, Covey and Matthew Solomon each added 11 points apiece and Jim Clemente collected nine rebounds and nine assists.  TCNJ shot 29-54 (53.7%) from the field, 6-22 (27.3%) from behind the three point line, and 18-26 (69.2%) from the free throw line.  
 
The Roadrunners return to action, Wednesday, February 15th at 7:30pm when they face William Paterson University at home for a NJAC match-up.
