Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's basketball team used a late second half run to earn an 83-77 win over New Jersey City University tonight at the Bradley Center. The Roadrunners move to 7-2 overall and 3-1 in the NJAC while the Gothic Knights now stand at 2-6 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
The Roadrunners had four players score in double figures as they were led by
Peter Gorman who posted 27 points, shooting 11-22 from the field and perfect from the free throw line (4-4). Gorman added seven assists, four rebounds and four steals. His layup with under twenty seconds remaining in the game gave the Roadrunners a two point lead, 79-77, before he sank a pair of free throws to extend the lead, 81-77.
Jordan Myers added a pair of free throws in the final seconds to cap off the 83-77 win. Myers wrapped up the game with a double-double of 20 points and ten rebounds while
Shane Rooney added 16 points and five rebounds.
Justin Bladen contributed with ten points including two made three-pointers. Ramapo shot 54% (33-61) from the floor in the game, 33% (3-9) from the three-point line and perfect from the free throw line (14-14). The Roadrunners scored 48 points in the paint while the defense forced 13 NJCU turnovers which led to 12 Roadrunner points.
The Gothic Knights also had four players score in double figures. Avante Gilbert posted 15 points while Daniel Rodriguez added a double-double of 14 points and ten rebounds. Hakeem Wilson and Will Brown each contributed with 12 points while Brown added seven rebounds. The team shot 45% (29-64) from the field, 30% (4-13) from the three-point line and 78% (15-19) from the free throw line in the game.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, December 9th when they host Montclair State University for a NJAC game at 1:00 PM.
