Daytona Beach, FL: The Ramapo College men's basketball team extended their win streak to five games with a 77-55 win over Immaculata University in their final game at the Florida Sunshine Shootout. The Roadrunners improve to 11-2 overall while the Mighty Macs now stand at 7-5 on the year.
Ramapo took a one point lead into the locker room at halftime, 33-32, before opening up an eight point lead in the first three minutes of action of the second half. The Roadrunners would hold a double digit lead the final 12:41 of the game including their biggest lead with 2:11 remaining, 75-48 off a layup from
Jordan Myers. Four players scored in double figures for the team including
Shane Rooney with a career high 23 points. Rooney added 11 rebounds including five offensive, two steals and one blocked shot for his third double-double of the season.
Anthony Corbo added 17 points and six rebounds as he was perfect from the free throw line at 6-6. Myers added 16 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots while
Anees Raheem contributed off the bench with 11 points and three rebounds. Ramapo shot 51% (28-54) from the floor, 14% (1-7) from the three-point line and 83% (20-24) from the free throw line. The Roadrunners tallied 48 points in the paint, 13 second chance points and 12 points off Immaculata turnovers.
For the Mighty Macs, Tyler Tillery led the way with 10 points and 12 rebounds while John Proctor added nine points. Dylan Crews and Time Schultice each contributed with seven points. The team shot 32% (17-52) from the floor, 41% (7-17) from the three-point line and 70% (14-20) from the free throw line.
Ramapo returns to action on January 6th, 2024 when they travel to Rutgers-Camden University for a NJAC conference game at 3:00 PM.
