Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's basketball team defeated Rutgers-Newark University tonight at the Bradley Center, 70-40. The Roadrunners open NJAC play with a 1-0 record while they move to 4-1 overall. The Scarlet Raiders now stand at 4-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
The Roadrunners had four players score in double figures tonight including three starters as
Jordan Myers led the way with 15 points. Myers added nine rebounds and one block.
Peter Gorman added 14 points and a team high five assists and two steals.
Shane Rooney collected 13 points and eight rebounds while
Elijah Barlow added 11 points, five rebounds, two assists and one steal off the bench.
Anthony Corbo led the way with 11 rebounds tonight while he added four assists, two steals and four points.
Anees Raheem contributed with seven points, one steal and one assist. The Roadrunners shot 45% (28-61) from the field, 21% (3-14) from the three-point line and 73% (11-15) from the three-point line. Ramapo scored 46 points in the pain and 21 points off of Rutgers-Newark turnovers.
The Scarlet Raiders were led by Kelvin Marshall who tallied eight points while Travis Miles scored six and Shy'Heed Jenkins-Floyd posted five. Miles and Levi Holton led the way with five rebounds each. The team shot 31% (13-41) from the floor, 10% (1-10) from the three-point line and 76% (13-17) from the free throw line.
Ramapo will return to action on Monday, November 27th when they travel to Brooklyn College (0-5 overall) in non-conference action at 7:00 PM.
