FOUR STARTERS SCORE IN DOUBLE FIGURES IN 84-68 WIN

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's basketball team earned an 84-68 win over Sarah Lawrence College tonight at the Bradley Center. The Roadrunners move to 2-1 overall while the Gryphons now stand at 0-3 on the year.
 
Ramapo used a late run in the first half to pull away from Sarah Lawrence and take a ten point lead into the second half. The Gryphons would close the gap to five in the first two minutes of the second before the Roadrunners hit back-to-back baskets as Shane Rooney scored a jumper in the paint while Peter Gorman sank a three-pointer to push the lead to, 50-40. Ramapo would keep a double digit lead for most of the second half the biggest margin coming by 15 points multiple times in the half.
 
Rooney led the Roadrunners with a double-double of 19 points, 14 rebounds and six assists while Jordan Myers added 17 points, three rebounds and two steals. Two more starters scored in double figures for the team as Gorman added 15 points, six assists and two steals while Justin Bladen posted 13 points including three three-pointers. Ramapo shot 54% (32-59) from the field, 35% (6-17) from the three-point line and 77% (14-18) from the free throw line. The Roadrunners recorded 46 points in the paint in the game and 27 points off turnovers.
 
For the Gryphons, Braden Burman led the way with 16 points including three made three-pointers while he added six rebounds and two assists. Kyle Jefferson added 11 points and three assists while Derek Hickman posted ten points and four rebounds. The team shot 37% (20-53) from the field, 38% (12-31) from the three-point line and 84% (16-19) from the free throw line.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, November 18th when they travel to Farmingdale State College for a non-conference game at 2pm.
