Westfield, MA: The Westfield State University men's basketball team earned a 94-76 win over Ramapo College on the final day of the Rick Martin/Hampton Inn Classic. The Owls moved to 2-0 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 1-1 overall.
Four players scored in double figures for the Owls including four starters as Brendon Hamilton led the team with 21 points and 16 rebounds while he added four blocks and two assists. Lid Moreland and Dom Strother each posted 14 points while Strother added two steals and eight rebounds. Kuany Teng recorded 13 points while Angel Price-Espada added ten points. The team shot 50% (38-75) from the field, 20% (5-24) from the three-point line and 72% (13-18) from the free throw line.
Peter Gorman led the way for Ramapo as he scored 20 points with four rebounds, two assists and one steal.
Jordan Myers posted 15 points and nine rebounds while
Anees Raheem added 13 points and
Elijah Barlow tacked on 11 points. The Ramapo defense forced 15 Owl turnovers which led to ten points for Ramapo. The Roadrunners shot 36% (25-68) from the field, 27% (5-18) from the three-point line and 70% (21-30) from the free throw line.
Ramapo returns to action in their home opener on Wednesday, November 15th when they host Sarah Lawrence College in a non-conference game at 7:30pm.
