Mahwah, NJ: The Stockton University field hockey team earned a 3-1 NJAC road win over Ramapo College today at the Athletic Center Turf Field. The Ospreys move to 12-3 overall and 2-1 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 3-9 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
The Ospreys scored first in the game with a goal from Kristen Bailey (12:11) to take a 1-0 lead. Ramapo would tie the game (13:01) with a goal from
Morgan Trotter as
Rachel Gellerr and
Allison Tanasy earned the assists. In the second quarter, Stockton added the go-ahead goal from Bailey (21:46), her 10th of the season off an assist from Ameera Bilgrami. In the final 18 seconds of the game the Roadrunners pulled
Michelle Kukan from the goal to add one more offensive player to the field. Stockton would regain possession and earn a penalty corner where Carlee Thompson would insert a pass to Bilgrami who hit the back of the cage for the 3-1 lead with just 12 seconds remaining.
Stockton recorded 21 shots on goal to Ramapo's two this afternoon. Kukan posted 16 saves in the net while
Rachel Geller and
Allison Tanasy each posted defensive saves for the Roadrunners. Hannah Ayari-Dias collected one save for the Ospreys in the NJAC victory.
The Roadrunners return to action on Tuesday, October 17th when they travel to Kean University for a NJAC game at 7:30pm.
