Montclair, NJ: The Montclair State University men's basketball team earned their 11th win of the season with a 78-70 NJAC victory over Ramapo College. The Red Hawks move to 11-1 overall and remain undefeated in the conference at 5-0 overall while the Roadrunner now stand at 5-8 overall and 1-5 in the NJAC.

Ramapo got on the board first with a jumper from
Anthony Corbo before MSU took a 4-2 lead with 15:44 on the clock.
Justin Bladen sank a three-pointer before Corbo made a jumper as Ramapo led 7-4. A three-pointer from MSU tied the game and started an 11-0 run which gave the Red Hawks a 15-7 lead with 13:10 on the clock.
Peter Gorman snapped the run with a jumper before Mike Jackson sank another three-pointer for MSU as they led by nine, 18-9. Gorman then converted on an and-one play to shorten the lead to six with less than 12 on the clock. The two teams traded baskets before MSU stretched their lead to ten with less than seven minutes left to play in the first half. Ramapo then went on a 13-5 run to cut the lead to just two, 29-31, as Corbo capped off the run with a three-pointer and jumper. Another three-pointer from MSU gave them a five point lead  before
Elijah Barlow went on a mini 7-0 run scoring all seven points for a 36-34 lead. MSU scored a basket to tie the game before Corbo sank a pair of free throws at the end of the half to take a two point lead into the locker room, 38-36.

In the second half, Ramapo went up 48-45 with less than 15 minutes to play as Bladen sank his second three-pointer of the game. Corbo scored a jumper before MSU made five straight three-pointers as they took a 60-55 lead with under eight minutes left in the game. MSU led by six, 64-58, before Ramapo went on a 7-2 run capped off with a basket from
Peter Gorman which shrunk the lead to just one with 4:19 on the clock, 65-66. The Red Hawk stretched their lead to 11 in the final three minutes of action with their final basket of the game with 45 seconds remaining. Â Barlow scored the final basket for either team with a jumper with 35 seconds left on the clock.

MSU was led by Steven Breeman who recorded five made three-pointers while he scored 22 points and posted 12 rebounds. Jackson added 20 points and Keyon Pryce posted 19 points and six assists. The Red Hawks shot 45% (29-64) from the field, 40% (15-37) from the three-point line and 71% (5-7) from the free throw line.

The Roadrunners were led by Corbo who tallied a career high 25 points as he finished 9-11 from the field and 5-5 from the free throw line. Corbo added four steals, one blocked shot and assist. Gorman tacked on 14 points including two three-pointers while Barlow also posted a career high 14 points. Ramapo shot 45% (27-59) from the field, 46% (7-15) from the three-point line and 60% (9-15) from the free throw line.

Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, January 7th when they host Rutgers-Camden University in NJAC action at 3pm at the Bradley Center.
