Madison, NJ: The Ramapo College baseball team played to a 6-6 tie today on the road at Drew University in non-conference action. The game was called after nine full innings of play due to darkness. The Roadrunners now stand at 8-9-1 overall while the Rangers move to 3-20-1 overall.

Ramapo took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning when
Will Egner plated
Matt Carovillano with an RBI sac fly in foul territory. Drew would take the lead in the third inning. The Rangers tied the game with a sac fly before an infield ground out allowed the go-ahead run to score, 2-1. In the sixth a back-to-back bases loaded walks for the Rangers forced home two more runs for a 4-1 lead.

In the seventh,
Justin Garthaffner gave the Roadrunner their second run of the game with a solo homerun, his fourth of the season. Drew added two runs in the bottom of the eighth to extend their lead, 6-2. In the top of the ninth, Ramapo would score four runs on two hits to tie the game at six. Ju. Garthaffner led off with a double before Carvillano and
Tyler Guadagno walked to load the bases.
Matt Lalomia then hit a pinch-hit single to left field plating two RBI. Following a fielder's choice and a walk the bases were once again loaded for Dominic Ciani who drew a walk to force home Lalomia, 5-6.
Brian Baranok then tied the game with a sac fly to center field which allowed TJ Rowan to score with the game tying run. The Roadrunners held the Rangers in the bottom of the ninth, turning a 6-4-3 double play to get out of the inning before the game was called due to darkness.

James Garthaffner started the game for Ramapo and went four complete innings. He struck out four, walked just two and scattered four hits.
DJ McGuinness worked 1.1 innings as he struck out one and let up four hits while
Matt Ivanicki struck out two, walked one and scattered three hits in 2.2 innings of work.
Will Paoli struck out one and did not surrender a hit in one inning of work. Ju. Garthaffner led the team with a 2-4 day at the plate with one RBI and two runs scored.

The Roadrunners return to action on Thursday, April 7th when they host Montclair State University in a NJAC game at 3:30pm. Â
