Wayne, NJ: The William Paterson University baseball team came back to defeat Ramapo College this afternoon, 10-9, in NJAC action. The Pioneers move to 24-12 overall and 10-5 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 14-20-1 overall and 5-10 in the conference.

Ramapo got on the board with three runs in the first inning as
Matt Lalomia plated
Christian Alonso with the game's first run on a sac fly, 1-0.
Sean Donaghue then drove home two runs with a two-RBI double to center field for the 3-0 lead.
Joe Wisniewski hit a solo home run in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 4-0 before WPU got on the board with a run in the fifth. Matt Carvovillano hit a solo home run in the sixth inning as Ramapo led 5-1. WPU scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to come within two, 3-5, before the Roadrunners tacked on one run in the seventh as Lalomia drove home

WPU would come within one in the seventh inning scoring two runs before they tied the game in the eighth inning, 6-6. Ramapo would take the lead in the top of the ninth. Lalomia laced a triple down the right field line scoring

Brian Baranok before Lalomia later scored on a wild pitch for a 9-6 lead. WPU would come back in the bottom of the ninth as the bases were loaded for Dan Carter. Carter belted a grand slam over the right-center field wall to propel the Pioneers to a 10-9 win.
Dominick Ciani started on the mound for the Roadrunners working six innings with eight strikeouts, three walks while he scattered eight hits and three runs.
Nick Danbrowney (3-5) took the tough loss in relief. Lalomia finished with 3-4 at the plate with four RBI and one run scored while Guadagno finished 3-5 with two runs scored.
Ramapo and WPU will return to action tomorrow afternoon at Jeff Maund Field in Mahwah to complete the home-and-home NJAC series. The game is slated to begin at 3:30pm.
