Auburndale, FL: The Roger Williams University baseball team remained undefeated with a comeback win over Ramapo College this afternoon, 10-8. The Hawks improve to 10-0 overall while Ramapo now stands at 4-7 overall.
The Hawks scored one run in the bottom of the first inning before Ramapo scored two runs in the top of the second.
Harold Calero drove home Justin Garthhaffner with an RBI single before
Sean Donaghue came home on a wild pitch for the one run lead. Two runs came across in the second inning for RWU for a 3-2 lead before
Matt Lalomia put Ramapo up 5-3 in the top of the third. Baranok and Carovillano scored when Lalomia laced a triple into left field making it 4-3 before. Lalomia scored on the play on an error by RWU, 5-3. The Hawks got one back in the third to come within one before Ramapo took an 8-4 lead in the fourth.
Brian Baranok recorded an RBI single which scored
Christian Alonso before Garthaffner drew a bases loaded walk which allowed
Tyler Guadagno to score, 7-4.
Sean Donaghue recorded a sac fly to center field which plated Baranok, 8-4. Roger Williams came back in the bottom half of the inning and scored five runs capped off with a two-run home run to give them a 9-8 lead. The Hawks added one run in the sixth, 10-8 with a sac fly.
Nick Danbrowney (1-1) started on the mound for the Roadrunners. He struck out six, walked four and let up seven hits and nine runs (four earned).
Will Paoli worked the final 3.1 innings as he struck up two, walked three and let up just one hit and one run. Baranok and Lalomia each collected two hits for the Roadrunners to lead the team offensively.
Ramapo returns to action on March 22nd when they host Old Westbury at 3:30pm.
