DICKINSON BASEBALL SWEEPS RAMAPO

Auburndale, FL:  The Dickinson University baseball team defeated Ramapo College today in a non-conference doubleheader, 8-2 & 9-3. The Roadrunners move to 4-6 overall while the Red Devils move to 8-5 overall
 
Game One
The Red Devils scored eight runs in the first inning while the Roadrunners scored two runs in the bottom half of the inning and one run in the fourth. Brian Baranok posted an RBI double in the first to score Tyler Guadagno while Matt Lalomia singled home Baranok with the team's second run of the game. Guadagno recorded an RBI single in the fourth inning to plate Will Egner for the final run of the game for either team. The Red Devils held Ramapo for the remainder of the game for the 8-3 win.
 
James Garthaffner (1-2) took the loss on the mound for the Roadrunners. DJ McGuiness worked the middle 5.2 innings with two strikeouts and letting up two hits and no runs scored while Gerard Chiricolo pitched the seventh inning with one strikeout and one walk.
 
Game Two
Dickinson scored four in the first, four in the second and one in the third while the Roadrunners scored two in the fifth. Ramapo's runs came home when Joseph Marte drew a bases loaded walk to force home Aidan Supp. Nick Danbrowney also drew a bases loaded walk to plate Robert Klawans with the team's second run of the game.
 
Troy Karaty (0-2) took the loss for Ramapo. He struck out one, walked three and let up seven hits. John Higgins went four innings as he struck out seven, walked one and scattered just three hits while Robert Sale pitched the final inning for Ramapo. He did not let up a hit in the 7th.
 
Ramapo returns to action tomorrow morning when they take on Roger Williams University in their final game of the RussMatt Invitational at 10am.
