KEAN MEN'S BASKETBALL REMAINS UNDEFEATED IN WIN OVER RAMAPO

Mahwah, NJ:  The Kean University men's basketball team defeated Ramapo College tonight in NJAC action, 80-56. The Cougars (7-0, 2-0 NJAC) snapped the Roadrunners (4-2, 1-1 NJAC) four game win streak.
 
Four out of five starters scored in double figures tonight for the Cougars as they were led by Letrell West with 19 points while he added six rebounds. Griffin Barker posted a double double of 12 points and 12 rebounds while Corey Thelisme and D.J. Alicea each added 12 points in the game. Jailen Jamison poured in 13 points and seven rebounds off the bench for the Cougars. The team shot 59% (32-54) from the field, 23% (5-21) from the three-point line and 64% (11-17) from the free throw line.
 
The Roadrunners were led by Jordan Myers who posted 14 points, three rebounds and two steals while Will Brown recorded 12 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals. Shane Rooney added ten points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals while Peter Gorman contributed with seven points. The Roadrunners shot 36% (24-65) from the floor in the game, 11% (2-18) from the three-point line and 54% (6-11) from the free throw line.
 
The Roadrunners biggest lead in the game came in the first half when they led, 21-16, with under eight minutes left in the half. Tyrell Murchison converted an and-one play off a dish from Brown before making his free throw for the five point lead. A 10-0 run late in the first half gave the Cougars a, 26-21, lead with just over four minutes of action left. Back-to-back jumpers from Brown and Gorman cut the Kean lead to just one before the Cougars went on a mini 6-3 run to take a 32-28 lead. At the end of the half, Justin Bladen sank a three-pointer to cut the lead to one as Kean went into the locker room at halftime with a one point lead, 32-31. In the second half, Kean stretched their lead to 12 in the first eight minutes of action, 52-37, while their biggest lead of the game came with less than two minutes left on the clock. A three-pointer from Shane Hailey gave the Cougars a twenty-five point lead, 78-53. Jon Delgado sank a three-pointer for the Roadrunners before Seth Edwards scored the final points of the game as Kean posted the 80-56 road win.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, December 3rd when they host Stockton University in a NJAC conference game at 1:00pm at the Bradley Center.
