MEN'S BASKETBALL TAKES DOWN SARAH LAWRENCE, 68-58

Bronxville, NY:  The Ramapo College men's basketball team won their first game of the 2022-2023 season, 68-58, over Sarah Lawrence College in non-conference action. Both teams now stand at 1-1 overall.
 
The two teams battled the whole first half with neither team led by more than four points. The Gryphons sank a three-pointer as time expired to tie the game at 32 at the half. In the second half, the Roadrunners went on a 15-3 run to take a 63-53 lead with 2:39 left in the game. With 1:14 on the clock the Gryphons shrunk the lead to seven but the Roadrunners wrapped up the game on a 4-1 run for the 68-58 win.
 
Five Roadrunners scored in double figures in the game as they were led by Peter Gorman with 14 points and a team high four steals. Will Brown added 13 points including two three-pointers while Justin Bladen finished with 12 points, two rebounds, three assists and three steals. Anthony Corbo added 12 points, three steals and four rebounds while Jordan Myers contributed with ten points and a team high eight rebounds. The team shot 41% (27-65) from the field, 37% (6-16) from the three-point line and 72% (8-11) from the free throw line. The Ramapo defense forced 23 SLC turnovers leading to 34 points for the Roadrunners.
 
The Gryphons were led by Justin DiFrabio with 19 points including five three-pointers. Chris Torres added 11 points while Eamon Kelly posted ten points and seven rebounds while he added three assists and two steals. Lucas Murry contributed with a team high 11 rebounds and six points. The Gryphons shot 39% (22-56) from the field, 31% (9-29) from the three-point line and 45% (5-11) from the free throw line.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, November 19th when they host Purchase College in a non-conference game at the Bradley Center at 3pm.
