Wayne, NJ: The Ramapo College men's soccer team posted a 3-0 NJAC road win over William Paterson University tonight. The Roadrunners move to 5-6-3 overall and 5-2-2 in the conference and clinch the #2 seed in the upcoming NJAC Tournament. The Pioneers wrap up the season at 4-10-2 overall and 1-7-1 in the conference.
The Roadrunners receive a first-round bye into the NJAC Semifinals which Ramapo will host on Tuesday, November 1st against the winner of #3 Rowan University and #6 New Jersey City University. All opening round games are scheduled for Saturday, October 29th at the highest seed.
Ramapo, who won their third straight, scored all three goals in the first half.
Damian Zurawski put Ramapo on the board with an early goal just four minutes into the game as Thiago Stallbaum and
Dorant Bokshi each earned an assist. The team's second goal came from
Massimo Gallorini off a pass from Bokshi for the 2-0 lead in the 20th minute before
Alim Lita hit the back of the net (38:18) as Stallbaum once again earned the assist, 3-0.
Ramapo held a 9-6 advantage in shots on goal in the game while WPU recorded eight corner kicks to the Roadrunner's five. Ramapo's
Nikolai Matthews earned his second shutout of the season as he posted five saves. Thomas Hatch started the game for WPU and earned six saves.
