Chester, PA: The Ramapo College men's swim team took home a non-conference victory on the road today at Widener University, 119-67. The Roadrunners, who won seven events in the meet, even their overall record to 3-3 on the year while the Pride now stand at 7-4 overall.
Josh Templeton won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:50.89 while
Spencer Hughes took home third place in 1:54.80. Templeton also posted a winning time in the 100-yard freestyle in 50.85 seconds.
Benjamin Gomez won the 50-yard freestyle in 22.63 seconds while
Chris Lee finished third in 23.33 seconds.
Emile Eeckhout added a first place finish to the meet in the 200-yard IM when he clocked in at 2:04.36 while
Samuel De Leon placed second (2:10.10) and
Devin Alejado was third in 2:11.02. Alejado won the 100-yard backstroke as he touched the wall in 57.67 seconds while
Brendan McDevitt was second (58.26 seconds) in the same event. Eeckhout clocked in at 1:00.92 in the 100-yard breaststroke for a first place finish while De Leon was second in 1:05.70. Gomez added a second place finish in the 100-yard butterfly in 54.23 seconds while the 200-yard freestyle relay team placed first overall. The team was made up of Lee, Gomez, Templeton and
Giovanni Alvarez.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, February 5th when they host Susquehanna University in a non-conference meet at 2pm.
