Patchogue, NY: The St. Joseph's College – LI women's volleyball team defeated Ramapo College, 3-1 (25-21, 25-21, 18-25, 25-20). The Golden Eagles open the season 1-0 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 0-3 on the season.
Two players from St. Joseph's recorded double digit kills as Amanda Goldstein posted 13 kills as she hit .455 in the match while Madison Gremli collected 11 kills. Veronica Miessmer posted a team high 29 assists while Kaitlyn D'Angelo recorded a team high five aces. On defense, Gremli led the team with 21 digs while April Sexton posted 15 and D'Angelo added 11 of her own. Lauren Hamer added six kills, two digs and four solo blocks including two solo blocks. The team recorded 45 kills on 143 attempts with 32 errors.
Ashley Pichardo and
Caleigh Golabek each led the Roadrunners with six kills apiece.
Alexandra Sacchinelli dished out a team high 15 assists while
Hannah McTighe collected nine of her own in the match. McTighe also led the team with three aces while
Stephanie Ross and
Emma Moran each posted a team high 11 digs.
Riley Stewart and
Grace Kim led the team with four blocks each. Ramapo collected 30 kills as a team on 123 attempts and 21 errors.
Ramapo returns to action on Tuesday, September 14th when they host Kean University in the first NJAC conference match of the season. The match will be at 7pm at the Bradley Center.
