Mahwah, NJ: The Cougars of Kean University defeated Ramapo College tonight in NJAC women's volleyball action, 3-1 (25-12, 25-15, 23-25, 25-21). The Cougars improve to 3-4 overall, 1-0 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 0-4 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
Anne Beckemeyer led the Cougars with 12 kills, four aces and four blocks while Ashley Smith tallied ten kills in the match. Kylie Brua dished out a team high 34 assists while she added two blocks and seven digs. Amanda DeLio led the team on defense with 15 digs while Taylor Micheaux posted 12 of her own. Kean collected 41 kills in the four-set match on 121 attempts.
The Roadrunners were led by
Stephanie Ross who recorded eight kills, four aces and a team high 16 digs.
Ashley Pichardo collected five kills and two blocks while
Caleigh Golabek tallied four kills, two aces and a team high five blocks.
Alexandra Sacchinelli posted a team high 14 assists while Hannah Mctighe also collected double digit assists with ten.
Emma Moran and Sacchinelli posted 11 and nine digs on defense respectively. The team recorded 29 kills in the match on 123 attempts.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, September 18th when they host St. Joseph's College-LI at the Bradley Center at 12:00pm.
