Dallas, PA: The Misericordia University men's soccer team defeated Ramapo College 1-0 today in non-conference action. The Cougars improve to 2-0 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 1-1 overall.

In the 25th minute (24:22) of the first half the Cougars were awarded a penalty kick. Eric Goldberg stepped up and blasted a shot before Ramapo goalkeeper
Joshua Schaffer made a diving save. Goldberg was able to get to the ball as it rebounded off of Schaffer and find the back of the net for a 1-0 score.

Osbin Mendez had one of Ramapo's best chances to tie the game in the final 20 seconds as he launched a shot toward the upper 90 of the goal. Cougar goalkeeper Andrew Daubenspeck made a diving save to keep the Roadrunners off the board.

In the game, Ramapo held a 9-8 advantage in shots including six in the second half. Ramapo also held a 5-3 lead in corner kicks. Schaffer posted two saves for the Roadrunners while Daubenspeck recorded one for Misericordia.

The Roadrunners host Moravian University on Wednesday, September 8th at the Athletic Center Turf Field, the non-conference game is set for 4pm.
