Newton, MA: The Ramapo College field hockey team recorded their second straight shutout with a 4-0 win against Lasell University today on the road. The Roadrunners improve to 2-0 overall while the Lasers now stand at 0-2 on the year.
Victoria Docherty recorded two goals, including the eventual game winner while adding one assist to lead the Roadrunners this afternoon. Docherty got the Roadrunners on the board with her first goal of the game in the 14th minute (13:21) off a pass from
Katie Yarussi for the 1-0 lead. In the second period,
Angela Oskierko hit the back of the cage to make it 2-0 for Ramapo as Docherty and
Talitha Joustra earned an assist. Just three minutes later Docherty notched her second goal of the game (34:28) this time off a pass from
Lucy MacKenzie before Yarussi scored a goal of her own in the 57th minute (56:10). The final goal of the game came off a pass from
Dylan Ghimiray as Ramapo held a 4-0 lead.
The Lasers made three goal-line saves in the game while Lasell goaltender Courtney Tello posted 23 saves. Ramapo outshot Lasell 35-3 and recorded all 19 penalty corners in the game.
Michelle Kukan tallied three saves in 56:10 minutes of action for the Roadrunners and
Sam Conrad finished the final 3:50 without having to make a save.
Ramapo returns to action on Wednesday, September 8th when they travel to FDU-Florham for a non-conference game at 7pm.
