DOCHERTY LEADS RAMAPO IN 5-0 WIN OVER IMMACULATA

Immaculata, PA:  The Ramapo College field hockey team posted their fifth shutout of the season in a 5-0 blanking on the road at Immaculata University. The Roadrunners improve on their program best mark and stand at 7-2 overall.  The Mighty Macs fall to 3-7 overall.
 
Ramapo got the scoring started in the second period when Maggie Farrell put the team on the board in the 18th minute of action, she was assisted by Mariah Tovar. Victoria Docherty tallied her first goal of the game in the 24th minute to take a 2-0 lead as Angela Oskierko recorded the assist. 
 
Tovar took a pass from Docherty in the first 36 seconds of the third period and hit the back of the cage before Oskierko pushed the Ramapo score to 4-0 in the 37th minute. Docherty assisted the fourth goal before scoring the final goal of the game off a pass from Tovar in the 42nd minute for the 5-0 lead.
 
Ramapo earned 18 penalty corners in the game while they held a 17-1 advantage in shots including 13-0 in shots on goal. Michelle Kukan and the Roadrunner defense did not face a shot on goal while Kukan did not have to make a save in today's game. Julia Levase recorded six saves in 42 minutes of action for Immaculata while Ashley Finkbiner posted two saves in the final 18 minutes.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on September 29th when they travel to Drew University for a non-conference game at 4:30pm.
