Wayne, NJ: The William Paterson University women's volleyball team defeated Ramapo College tonight, 3-0 (25-14, 29-27, 25-13). The Pioneers improve to 7-5 overall and 1-2 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners stand at 1-6 overall and 0-3 in the conference.
Dakota Apicella and Leila Ksiyer led the Pioneers on offense tonight each recording 18 kills. Kristin Volavka dished out a team best 36 assists while Apicella led the team on defense with 20 digs. Kyla Sebello collected 14 digs while Kathleen Burrough added nine. The team posted 40 kills in the match on 122 swings and just 19 errors.
For the Roadrunners,
Ashley Pichardo and
Caleigh Golabek each collected four kills while
Riley Stewart posted three of her own. Golabek led the team with three aces and two blocks.
Hannah McTighe recorded a team high six assists while
Alexandra Sacchinelli dished out five during the match. On defense,
Grace Kim led the team with ten digs while
Stephanie Ross and Amanda Fatough each collected eight.
Ramapo returns to action tomorrow afternoon when they host the Roadrunner Invitational Ramapo will take on FDU-Florham at 4pm and Mount Saint Mary College (NY) at 6pm.
